  We parked at Risden's Beach because there was no parking near Point Pleasant when we came later in the day so we paid the $20 to park in the lot on the weekend. I saw they had a bathroom and I THOUGHT a changing room. We spent the afternoon on the beach and wanted to change into dry clothes for the boardwalk. When we went up the attendant told us, "You have to leave the bags outside. There is no changing in here." Here I thought it was a bathhouse with places to change! They said that we could pay an additional $6 per person to use the showers/changing facility. After paying $20 to park and $24 to access the beach, I wasn't going to pay another $6 per person to shower when all we needed is a place to change! The biggest problem I see in NJ is the ridiculous price to park AND go on the beach followed by the LACK OF FACILITIES! It would be nice if these beach towns could at least include a simple structure building with changing rooms. That's all we needed! I didn't need a shower just to change us out of wet clothes! Furthermore, this bathhouse CLOSED around the same time the lifeguards left the beach which was about 5:30pm. The bathhouse should really stay open longer because people are still coming off the beach. It's a real shame that the NJ Beaches are such a scam.
